Japanese Culture - EELS
How does Geography impact the way a culture of people live?
We are learning about the impact geography and climate have on an area and its people. A great example of this is The Netherlands. This small European country has had to cope with flooding waters from the North Sea for hundreds of years. Join us if you like on our quest to learn about this country and how it has managed to control the surging water and stay on the land they love.
Thank you from Heifer International
Pennies for Chicks
Join us as we collect pennies to purchase a Flock of Chicks for a family in Africa. Our snowman is already filling up and it's only been one morning. Thank you to all who donated their pennies so far.

One Hen and Chicken Research
We are reading the book One Hen to learn how one small idea can change the world for many. In this true story, a young boy from Ghana buys one hen to help his mother and he ends up helping all of Western Africa.
If you were to buy a hen, which type would you buy? After reading One Hen, the third graders will research these fun, feathered critters and then fill out a questionnaire to see what type of hen is best for them. |
Let's examine these primary sources.
Are these libraries? What do you think?
Why are LIBRARIES important to people?
To support the ELA curriculum, we are learning about the importance of books, reading and libraries by exploring true stories about people who have helped reading and literacy through libraries of all sorts. Click on the Padlet links below to read why books and libraries are important to us.
