Tooth Research
Early in March, we are researching what children around the world do with their teeth when they fall out. You would be surprised by some of the answers. Pairs of students are working together to research a country using the informational book Throw Your Tooth on the Roof. Each pair will present their findings to the rest of the class. Watch for our upcoming slide show.

Fractured Tales
A Fractured Tale is when a new author rewrites a traditional tale and changes elements of the story to make it funny and new. Here are some fractured tales we have shared in the library.
What is China?
Jacqueline Woodson has written a touching story about missed opportunity. When a new girl, Maya, comes to class, Chloe and her friends ignore her because Maya's clothes look like hand-me-downs and she's wearing "spring shoes" in the winter. And as the year passes and Maya has to move away, Chloe realizes she has lost the chance to show kindness and make a new friend.
